Welcome to WeddingWise, your destination for planning your New Zealand wedding. We are a recently married husband and wife (plus sister) team with a desire to help kiwi couples getting married.
We were married in February 2009, and never having planned a wedding before we weren’t sure where to start. Some wise person said “find a wedding venue and go from there”. Little did we realise there was the venue, the caterer, the invitations, the florist, the cake, the dress, the suit, the entertainment, and 1000 other little things we needed to find and organise. It was going to be a lot of work.
Discovering a need
Being of the online generation, our first instinct was to search the web for a wedding venue, but it was more difficult than we thought to find a good directory of venues in New Zealand. We eventually found a venue we liked and through their recommendations we were able to find most of our other vendors.
Up until the weekend of our wedding we thought we had made good choices. We soon found out that we didn’t. Some of our vendors were fantastic, while others didn’t live up to their promises. If only we had a website where we could have read reviews about these vendors before we chose them we could have made smarter, happier decisions. But that site didn’t exist for New Zealand, so we decided to make it.

This website was born from the idea to create a comprehensive online resource for couples planning their wedding, enabling them to make smarter decisions and to share their experiences with others.
