Welcome to WeddingWise
by Benek Lisefski on September 19, 2009
We’re building the first and only comprehensive online directly of wedding vendors in New Zealand, complete with user reviews & ratings, helpful advice, and valuable planning resources.
This site is still in development and very incomplete, but we’ve decided to open up what we’ve got done so far to the public so we can finish off the features and start getting feedback. So if you’ve stumbled across WeddingWise please feel free to have a look around.
We’ve been hard at work
The vendor directory already has hundreds of businesses listed, with hundreds (if not thousands) more to come. We’ve been focusing mostly on wedding venues so far, so that section is far more complete than the others (with many vendor types having no listings at all yet). We’ve been scouring the internet (and those old fashioned phone books) to compile the most comprehensive directory of New Zealand wedding vendors you’ll find anywhere. Over the coming weeks and months we’ll be fleshing out the directory with listings in all of the different vendor types.
The future of WeddingWise
We’ve got big plans on the horizon. In addition to finishing the vendor directory we’ve already started, we plan to launch new features as we get them developed.
This will include a resources page that will include things like:
- Wedding planning checklist
- Wedding budget spreadsheet
- Ceremony reading suggestions list
- Ceremony music suggestions
- And more…
We’ll also be launching a forum where users can:
- Ask questions and get answers from those already married
- Get recommendations for the right vendors for you
- Discuss reviews and opinions of vendors
- Discuss wedding styles, trends, and ideas and share your ideas to give others inspiration
And lastly, we’ll be creating a WeddingWise shop where we’ll feature books to help you plan your wedding, gift and favour ideas, as well as promotions, coupons, and discounts from wedding vendors across the country.
What do you think?
We’re very excited about what we’re creating here and we think it will be an invaluable resource for future kiwi brides and grooms planning their weddings. We’d love to hear your feedback about how you think we can make WeddingWise more useful so please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Hi! My name is Jenny, one of the creators of WeddingWise. I’m mostly responsible for adding listings to the directory. Be sure to email us if you want to review one of your wedding vendors and it hasn’t been listed yet.
As Benek mentioned above, this is a very soft launch, hopefully we’ll have many more listings, reviews, and content in the coming weeks.
We’ll keep you updated through the blog as WeddingWise grows.
Remember, the usefulness of WeddingWise is dependent on your reviews, so don’t be shy. Review your wedding vendors now!

Brilliant! It’s about time someone made an easy to use, comprehensive wedding directory for New Zealand wedding planning. I look forward to watching how the site progresses!

Thank God a sight that is going to save me time in searching for what I need.
Its crazy when you’re looking for a vendor and you can’t search by location.
Thanks guys !!!!
