  We just had our wedding at Castaways and it was the most amazing day. The views are breathtaking. The staff is fabulous, the setup staff very helpful and knowledgeable, the staff on the day was also great, special mention to Roddie who takes care of everything. Food was fantastic as well. And the photo booth is a must, makes for amazing memories to keep forever.

  Castaways was excellent. Our day and night were both entirely stress-free and even though the weather meant we had to hold the ceremony indoors, the view was still fantastic and all our guests loved it. Roddy was amazing - so calm and collected and just knew exactly what was going on.

  Like all of the previous reviews on Castaways my husband and I cannot express how amazed we were with the level of service we have received from the whole Castaways staff.

  We had an outstanding day that we wouldn’t change a thing about, nothing was too much trouble and everything was dealt with, with a huge smile and the most wonderful attitude.

  Roddy was like an extra bridesmaid taking such good care of me and the entire wedding party. 6 Flowergirls is no small task but he made it look like a breeze. We have such wonderful memories of Castaways and our special day that will last a lifetime.

  Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts for such a magical experience. You exceeded our expecations and we both highly recommend Castaways for any special occasion.

  If only we could rate ‘above excellent’. I would rate Castaways just that!

  My husband and I, along with our family members and friends, who joined us on our wedding day, all cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism of all the staff involved in the co-ordination and service provided on our wedding day.
  Without the help of all those involved we imagine the day would not have gone so smoothly and been such a success.

  We want to give thanks to one special person who played an important role, and he goes by the name of “Roddy Peat”. He co-ordinated the entire night and made sure the day made a smooth transition into the evening, and went that ‘extra mile’ for us, which we appreciate so very much.
  Roddy never failed to make an appearance when any of our guests (or us: the bride and groom) needed assistance and a smile never faded throughout the entire night, and this was carried out also in the team that backed him. 
  Him and the team were just so incredible! From start to finish; organisation to preparation and execution of every detail… Simply put… Our wedding day was perfect!

  We can’t figure out how to express ourselves to say the thanks to Castaways that means enough. Thank you sooooooooooo much for your friendly and AMAZING services. Castaways definitely made our night the most special night to date. To say it was too much would be an understatement. We will always remember our wedding day fondly and won’t ever forget all that the Castaways staff had done. Thank you so, so much!

  We have said there was not one thing we would have changed about the whole day and the smiles on our faces in every photograph taken said it all.  We had so many compliments about the venue and the accommodation and everyone agreed with us that we could not have chosen better. Once again, a big ‘thanks’ to everyone involved from Castaways for helping us make this day so memorable.

  Thank you especially to Marie McCoy, good luck in your future endeavours and it was the biggest pleasure in meeting you and having you as our wedding planner!

  Oh My Gosh. My husband and I had the most amazing wedding ever at Castaways. It was better than we could ever have imagined. From our very first meeting, I had the utmost confidence in their team. The venue itself is just mind-blowing, over looking Karaiotahi beach. It has clearly been finished to the highest standard, with the highest level of cleanliness which was just fantastic. The food was just magnificent, absolutely delicious. Finally, the incredible team at Castaways ensured our day ran so smoothly, they really were just the absolute best. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants an amazing wedding!!

  We had our wedding at Castaways on a blustery April day and I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the team. My parents live close to Castaways and I have always loved the beach so I was thrilled we got the venue at relatively short notice. Marie, the planner, has a fantastic attitude, nothing is too much effort or a problem, dealt with a demanding mother of the bride with great patience and tact and made me feel so confident that I had chosen the right place. On the day Roddy and Shannon took over and they were amazing. They were so calm, the room looked beautiful, they provided everything I needed, checked in just the right amount and made me feel like a total star. And the food was divine. Honestly - this is the perfect place for your special day.

  As we drove into Castaways, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue for us, with it’s breathtaking views and tranquil setting. Marie was an absolute delight to work with leading up to our special day. Steve’s ‘anything is possible at Castaways’ attitude was just what we were looking for and he along with his team did a fantastic job co-ordinating everything on the day. The service that we received was exceptional throughout the planning process as well as on the day. Our wedding was simply beautiful and our guests had lots of positive feedback on the whole experience, especially the food! We are soooo glad we chose Castaways, it exceeded all our expectations!

  From the moment my husband and I first went to Castaways, I said to him…..“this is the place that I want us to be married in”. The views from Marie’s office, took our breath away and so began the process of securing our dream wedding there.

  Not enough can be said as to how helpful Marie was with helping me plan our day. Professional, personable, understanding, are just a few words that spring to mind with how she helpful she was for me.

  The day before our wedding, myself, my parents, and our wedding party, arrived at Castaways. My matron of honour and her husband (who ‘were’ going to go home after the wedding) decided that they were going to stay on the extra night, with the rest of us. Enough said right there about how blown away, everybody was, with the views that Kariotahi Beach, had to offer.

  The day arrived, not the best weatherwise but we didn’t care. Nothing could spoil our special day out there and hearing the comments from our guests, made it even more special.

  Roddy and his staff…..outstanding. A last minute panic with the wedding dance song, had us asking Roddy to choose us something appropriate, which he did. But the most “outstanding effort” from Roddy that night…...allowing us to watch the Blues vs Hurricanes game on the big screen in the reception room…..Cheers for that Roddy!!!

  If you and your soon to be husband are looking for somewhere, anywhere for your special day, Don’t go pass this venue. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed. We certainly were not.

  I can not recommend Castaways highly enough to do it justice for the amazing day we had on our Wedding.  The venue, the service, the food, everything was superb.
  Marie, Steve and the Team made our day the most memorable and perfect day and Castaways holds a very special place in our hearts.
  We have returned for both our anniversaries and enoyed the experience just as much.

  We had our ceremony and reception at Castaways in March 2009.  Choosing was one of the best things we did…  They were great about everything:  We wanted to have our horses at the wedding, mostly for photos on the beach but I also wanted to ride my horse down the aisle.  So they let me bring him along for a practise ride, and the kitchen staff watched us as we walked around having a good look at the place so that he got used to it. 
  They were helpful and patient with all my little and never ending questions about table settings and dance floors etc etc…
  On the day, the staff were outstanding. They were caring and really looked after us and our guests, but were also unobtrusive and professional.  From the bar staff carrying around my sister-in-law’s toddler son so that she could eat her dinner, to Steve, the manager, lacing me into my 2nd dress (for the wedding dance) in a store room off the kitchen while my bridesmaids touched up my make up and one of the waitresses lent me her lip gloss… 
  Honestly, book your wedding at Castaways, and then just let Steve and his crew take care of you on the day.  I’m a control freak and I managed to relax and stop worrying (after he gently told me to half a dozen times!) 

  Food was great, lots of guests commented how yummy it was, and the venue itself is amazing, with the most breathtaking views over the beach.  But it’s the staff who really made it for me.  Cheers guys.
