I have not used their services, but merely visited their shop and was put off enough to never go in there again. Not only was the shop revolting untidy and dirty, but the staff there were extremely rude, and unhelpful. All questions that I asked, were given 2 contradictionary answers, an indication that these women were either not listening or didn’t know what they were talking about. I was quoted upwards of $1000.00 for a simple, small 3 tier. I asked them if they had any actual cakes to look at (most in the store were iced polystyrene) and upon looking at the cakes, confirmed that I would never go with them, one of the cakes shown to me was cracked, and the other had finger prints on it! Definatley a no-go!

Ordered a cake for family 60th birthday, was perfect when I picked it up and looked fantastic. When it was cut at the function it crumbled and fell apart and we were unable to serve to the guests at all. Rang 5 X Roads the next morning to tell them and they said to return it. Returned it straight away and was treated like a criminal! - verbally attacked by the management and told it was entirely our fault. To make it worse we are banned from ordering another cake (seriously???!!) when asked for our money back - $160. Have had heaps of cakes made there before with no problem, but we will now never use them again. Appalling customer service :(

We already knew the type of cake / icing / shape that we would like to have for our wedding, and also had the flowers pre-arranged especially for the cake (as they were artificial). So you would think that the process of ordering this thought out cake would be simple. Five Cross Roads Cake Kitchen had other thoughts though…
It took two trips back to the store to actually order the cake as the person who served us confused us over what size to have made. One minute we were getting suggestions to have a small one as people were going to be eating other food at the same time, and the next, we were told to get a larger one because we wouldn’t want the pieces to be too small?!
In the end we searched the internet and made our own decision on the size of our cake, which worked out fine.
I told the woman that we would leave the complimentary ribbon off the cake and that I would decide once I saw it on whether we would put a ribbon around it.My mum and I went in on our wedding day to pick up the cake only to find that there was a ribbon around it that did not match anything else that we had in our wedding. I asked the woman to please take it off as I hadn’t asked to have a ribbon around the cake in the first place, and she looked at me like I was a piece of crap. Then I HAD to choose a ribbon as there was a ‘blob’ of icing on the side of the cake from where the ribbon had been stuck on.
I was really unimpressed with this, and this was an issue that was un-necessary on our wedding day.
The cake was really beautiful though, and it tasted amazing. We had a lot of compliments from our guests, and even though we had these issues at Five Cross Roads Cake Kitchen, I would go there again.
My advice to anyone purchasing a cake from their store is to go there knowing exactly what you want - including the size!!! And be very careful with the ribbon…
