Gear Homestead is an ideal venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, catering for up to 80 guests for a formal seated dinner. You can hire your own entertainment provider and a bar is available.
On-site catering is provided with extensive menus to suit all occasions.
The Homestead is set on 4 hectares of gardened grounds and offers a picturesque setting for wedding ceremonies and photo opportunities. From its ornately worked porches and flowing lawns, the view of Porirua’s sparkling twin harbours is breathtaking. Nestled among the rose gardens and flowering shrubs, protected from the winds by a magnificent stand of historic pines, Gear Homestead is an unforgettable location with plenty of parking. Built in 1882 by the pioneer business magnate, James Gear, the Homestead offers an unrivalled blend of elegance, history, privacy and practicality.

Loved it! Such helpful staff. There was a marquee set up for the wedding the day before ours, and I was assured it would be gone by morning even if the Gear Homestead staff had to do it themselves…and it was gone, no holes in the ground from the massive pegs either!
It would be a great place for a murder mystery party!!venue-
