I met with Lotta, of Waiheke Flower Company, because I had so many recommendations to use her as my Waiheke wedding florist.
I didn’t have my heart set on any type of flower, just that I wanted a white bouquet.
Lotta came up with a bouquet that was both beautiful, and simple, but with various blossoms.
She wisely talked me out of ‘tall’ table settings as they would block the view of people sitting at the table across from one another.
She also strongly suggested we didn’t have white flowers for the table settings because against the white table cloths they wouldn’t look good in photographs. This turned out to be really good advice. The table setting looked really great during the wedding and in the photos.
She turned up promptly on the morning of the wedding and expertly showed me how to hold my bouquet.

We haven’t booked Lotta because we weren’t impressed with her attitude.
I’m a very organised bride on a tight budget and asked for a quote knowing what flowers we wanted.
She refused saying quote: “in one word NO, your wedding is too far away”. What would have been better would be for her to have said “At today’s rates your flowers would be blah but I will need to re-price closer to your wedding because of market price changes”.
This I would have completely understood as other vendors have said this, it would mean though that I can see if she fits in to our budget at all.
Needless to say we’ve found someone else, a little bit of courtesy goes a long way.
