Of course all of the lakes scenery is pretty stunning, but this venue took full advantage of what nature has to offer and then some. Just outside Te Anau proper, you drive up a tree-lined drive and encounter a beautiful lodge, built to complement, not compete with the view. paddocks to the side, and natural pond, you continue round the building and run straight into breathtaking views.

Located on the edge of a golf course, you see green, lake, mountain and sky with no other buildings to interrupt enjoyment of the panorama. A pavilion set up on the flat point of the grounds provided a similar view and more than adequate seating for the entire wedding party. If you wanted to take the stunning beauty of New Zealand and have the memories of your perfect day be soaked in the exhilarating feeling of being close to natures best, then this is a pretty special choice. For the bridal party, waking up in the morning with full window views of the same would make you feel something quite unique - the bride was excited the next day to brag about waking in luxury and in nature, and showed us photo’s of the outlook to prove her point.

A local restaurant provided exquisite, fresh and local food, and outstanding friendly service for both nibbles and the reception dinner.

This was a truly memorable day, and I was just a guest, more to the point the bride and groom couldn’t have been happier, with the whole wedding complete without a hitch. I took about 500 photo’s over the course of the day (hobby for me) and I can assure you having that location meant most were keepers!
